Title: Social Media Monetization — The New Road to Darkness

These days, social media isn’t just a place to connect, it’s a place to compete — for attention, followers, and money. What was once a platform for sharing life’s simple moments has turned into a stage for showing off, chasing clout, and selling souls for likes. The hunger for fame and quick cash has blinded many, especially the youth.

Social media monetization sounds like a dream — getting paid for posting pictures, videos, or content that trends. But behind the scenes, some of these influencers and content creators are living a completely different life from what they show. Many are under pressure to stay relevant, to keep the views up, and to maintain the illusion of a “perfect life.” And in that desperation, some have turned to dark and dangerous means to stay on top.

We’ve seen people lose their morals just to gain followers. Some expose too much of their bodies for likes, others fake lifestyles they can’t afford, and a few even get involved in strange “sacrifices” just to keep the money flowing. The sacrifices made are not always physical — sometimes they are spiritual, emotional, or mental. Some lose themselves completely while trying to please strangers online.

It’s sad how social media has become a modern altar where many people sacrifice their peace, purity, and privacy. The darkness hides behind the glittering filters and the big numbers. People no longer care about right or wrong; they only care about views and engagement.

Social media can be a blessing, yes — but only when used with wisdom and balance. The moment money and fame become the goal, that’s when many fall into the trap. Not every influencer you admire got there through talent or hard work; some gave up their souls for it.

Before you post, ask yourself: What am I really chasing? Because sometimes, the likes you get online may be the very light you lose inside.
