I Dated a Taxi Owner Who Transported Ghosts Every Night
I met him during the hardest time of my life. I was an orphan, living with my uncle and his wife. Life in that house was full of pain. My uncle’s wife hated me. I did all the cleaning, washing, and cooking. I ate last, slept late, and was treated like a slave.
Many nights, I cried myself to sleep and prayed that someone would rescue me.
One evening, after running an errand, I met him. He was a taxi owner. He stopped and asked if I needed a lift. He spoke kindly, smiled softly, and for the first time in years, I felt seen. After that day, he started checking on me. He would bring me food, talk to me, and make me laugh again.
When things got worse at my uncle’s house, he told me to pack my things and leave. He said, “You deserve peace.” That night, I moved in with him. I thought I had finally found love and safety.
But I was wrong.
He owned a few taxis and mostly worked at night. He told me night work paid better. I believed him until I started noticing strange things. Some nights, he would come home around 3 or 4 a.m., covered in dust. Sometimes, I’d hear him talking outside, but when I checked, he’d be alone.
One night, I decided to follow him. I hid at the back of the taxi,he usually left the house without saying goodbye because he assumed I was sleeping. So while he was getting ready to leave that's when I rushed to his taxi without him noticing.
The truth is I thought he was cheating on me and I was ready to catch him. I listened quietly while he start his taxi and drove away with me inside .The road was quiet, dark, and cold. But what I saw next made my heart freeze.
He stopped on an empty road, stepped out, and opened the back door — but no one was there,or so I thought. Then the taxi lights flickered, and I saw shadows moving inside, as if invisible people were entering. He started the car again and drove slowly, talking softly as if he was greeting someone.
Within a few minutes I started seeing people inside the taxi,it was as if they were going to work and he was their special driver but these people were quiet the whole time.
I couldn’t move. I just sat there hidden and shaking. I followed from a distance, and each time he stopped, the same thing happened — doors opening by themselves, faint whispers, cold wind.
Suddenly he dropped everyone at the same spot and there was an old lady waiting at the abandoned house that they all got off. She gave my husband a black plastic bag. Not too big just your normal size grocery plastic Bag.
Actually she didn't give it to him,she put it down on the taxi floor and he drove off. I could see the plastic from far from where I was laying down. It wasn't closed,I saw stacks of money inside.
I knew he was involved in scary things and I could feel my heart beating very fast and on my knees.
After a while the taxi parked and I peeked, we were home and I was relieved . I was cold and in shockwith tired eyes and a strange smell on my clothes — something like old dust and smoke. The same smell he would come home with.
Days later,I couldn't keep it in anymore. I asked him where he really went at night. He looked at me for a long time and said, “You don’t want to know, my love. The people I transport are not alive.” He confessed that he saw me that day and decided to keep quiet.
He said all wanted to do was protect me from that life but I have initiated my self into darkness because of curiosity. He added that every ghost I saw in there knew I was there and they weren't happy and that's why I had to become part of the cult.
That was the day I realized I was living with a man who transported ghosts.
After that, I started hearing whispers too. I saw shadows in the house. I couldn’t sleep. Sometimes, I would wake up and find his taxi lights on by themselves outside, even when the keys were in his pocket.
I left him when I felt I couldn’t breathe anymore. But even now, years later, I still dream of that taxi driving slowly in the dark — full of silent passengers.
