EL SHADDAI LEARNER COMMITS SUICIDE DUE TO BULLYING AT SCHOOL
SHARPEVILLE - Lerato a grade 10 learner at El Shaddai has committed suicide due to bullying at school.
According to reports, the 16 year-old from Sharpeville Phase 2 has been bullied since attending the school. The family tried to intervene but the principal has apparently been protecting the bullies.
A source has told Vaal Journal that the teenager attempted suicide in September and was in ICU, when he was discharged and returned back to school, the bullying continued until he took his life on Thursday.
Bullying has become a huge cry in South Africa as of late and Lerato had enough. He apparently had bullies at school and hated every moment of school. Even though he wasn't physicaly abused according to another source,he was verbally and emotionaly abused.
Lerato was so tired of this that he eventually thought taking his life was the only option. His mother found a very sad note left by her Precious son amongst his things.
He allegedly has also been sexually harassed and the principal did nothing about it even though he was made fully aware of this.
