STAMPEDE IN POLOKWANE | Shebeshxt Fans Pack Courtroom, Delaying Crucial Bail Hearing

SHEBESHXT BAIL HEARING HIT BY DELAYS, APPLICATION POSTPONED TO NEXT WEEK

POLOKWANE – Chaos and overcrowding at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court caused significant delays in the bail hearing of popular musician Lehlohonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke on Friday, forcing the magistrate to postpone the matter to next week.

Courtroom Overcrowding Causes Delays

The courtroom was filled to capacity long before proceedings began, with supporters packing every available seat. Some attempted to sit on the floor in an effort to follow the hearing, but the magistrate ordered anyone without a seat to step outside for safety and order.

This led to several individuals being escorted out, including notable artists and Shebeshxt’s producer, Nakedi “Naqua” Mawasha.

Bail Application Postponed

Following hours of delays and administrative strain, the court ruled that the bail application would not continue on Friday. Shebeshxt has been remanded in custody until 25 November 2025, when his legal team is expected to present further submissions.

Serious Charges

Shebeshxt faces a string of serious allegations, including:

  • Attempted murder

  • Assault

  • Malicious damage to property

The prosecution argued that more time is needed to address aspects of the case, while the defence is preparing additional evidence to support his release.

Supporters Protest Outside Court

Outside the courthouse, crowds of supporters gathered throughout the day, chanting and calling for the artist’s release. Police officers were deployed to keep order as tensions rose among the large groups.

A Case Drawing National Attention

Shebeshxt’s case has rapidly become one of the most closely watched in the country, with fans and industry peers tracking every development. The upcoming hearing on 25 November 2025 is expected to be a decisive moment in determining whether the musician will be granted bail or remain in custody as the trial moves forward.
