A FOUR YEAR OLD WAS SHOT AND KILLED BY A NEIGHBOUR WHO WANTED TO TEST HIS LICENCED FIRE ARM

A Childhood Cut Short: A Community in Mourning After Hamanskraal Tragedy

**A Very Painful and Heartbreaking Story from Hamanskraal**

This is a very painful and emotional story that has left many people shocked and heartbroken.

Four-year-old Obakeng Minyuku from Hamanskraal (Chrishani) tragically lost his life after being shot by a neighbour. Obakeng was still very young, full of life, and innocent. On that day, he was doing what children love to do most — playing outside with other kids in the neighborhood.

According to the family, they do not really know what happened. Everything happened so fast and without warning. While the children were playing, people suddenly started shouting and calling them. That is when Obakeng was found lying on the street. He had been shot and was bleeding badly. The sight was shocking and painful for everyone who saw it.

The neighbour who shot Obakeng took the family to the clinic. However, after arriving at the clinic, she left them at the gate and did not stay. The family was left alone, confused, scared, and praying for Obakeng’s life.

Sadly, despite efforts at the clinic, little Obakeng passed away. A young life was taken too soon. A child who should have grown up, gone to school, laughed, and chased his dreams is now gone forever.

This tragedy has left the family broken and the community in deep pain. No parent should ever have to bury a child. No family should ever experience such loss, especially under such painful circumstances.

Obakeng’s death reminds us how fragile life is and how important it is to protect children at all times. Children deserve safety, love, and care — not violence.

We send our deepest condolences to the Minyuku family, relatives, friends, and the entire Hamanskraal community. May God give the family strength during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, little Obakeng.
You will never be forgotten. 🕊️
