A NIGERIAN MAN UNDER A FAKE BOLT PROFILE KIDNAPS AND ROBS SOUTH AFRICAN TO ALLEGEDLY TO AVENGE HIS FELLOW NIGERIAN MURD3RED BOLT DRIVER

On 21 February 2026, a deeply disturbing incident involving an e-hailing trip has raised serious safety concerns. According to the victim and those close to her, what began as a normal ride request quickly turned into a traumatic ordeal.

After being picked up, the driver allegedly deviated from the expected route and collected another individual. The passenger’s phone was reportedly taken from her, preventing her from contacting anyone or sharing her live location. The situation escalated further when she was allegedly forced out of a moving vehicle.

The victim survived the incident, but the physical and emotional impact has been significant.

This case has reignited concerns about fraudulent driver accounts and identity misuse within e-hailing platforms. Criminals may use stolen or borrowed profiles, create fake accounts under false names, or operate vehicles that do not match registered details. Passengers often place trust in the app’s verification systems, which makes any form of manipulation particularly dangerous.

Women across South Africa continue to rely heavily on e-hailing services for transportation, and incidents like this intensify fears around personal safety. Many are now calling for stronger driver verification processes, improved emergency response systems within apps, and faster coordination with law enforcement when crimes are reported.

While investigations continue, this incident serves as a painful reminder that passenger safety must remain a top priority. Convenience should never come at the cost of security.
